Avicii - X You ( Original Mix )

Over the past 7 weeks Swedish DJ sensation Avicii has created the largest musical collaboration ever.

Contributions were submitted across five elements of the track (Melody, Bassline, Beat & Rythym, Break, and Effects), and within each section the fans voted on their favourites, before Avicii made the final edit. 

His vision was to highlight how many great bedroom producers there are scattered around the world and to use social technology in doing so.  The final song here is below, with the pre Avicii X You video below it. 

         
            

Defkline, Red Polo - Oh Sevre! ( Breakbeat Garage Mix )

Julio Bashmore's famous tune Au Seve has been remixed recently by two relatively unknown producers Defkline and Red Polo. This breakbeat influenced track is unbelievable and has been on constant repeat ever since I first heard it.

Ethyl & Flori - Malmoe

This track has sat in my library for longer than a year, sat in the 'Deep' section of my iTunes library, but outside of the 'Dance' playlist I keep all of my electronic music collection in. I downloaded it and listened to it, but never really enjoyed it. Saturday saw my first night at 'Fabric' in London, with fellow bloggers Oscar and Mike. Listening to techno and deep house in the environment they were designed for my appreciation for these genres sailed, and when this track came on on shuffle on my iTunes, it immediately hit me in ways completely lost on me before. Its groovy beats and nice ambient samples really` make this track a banger. Check it out now!

Here's a mashup i've done between Rockin' by DJ Punish & Dani L. Mebius, and Alive by Krewella. It mixes the tasty electro drop from Rockin' with the beautiful vocals from Krewella. It is rare to get such a beautifully melodic progressive track from Krewella, and this mix uses this melody in conjunction with a hard hitting drop. Enjoy!

This is huge.

One of the songs of last year, Chasing Summers by Dutch legend Tiesto has now been remixed by fellow countrymen R3hab and Quintino to produce a bass thumping track with hard hitting drums that will be a definite crowd mover.

The buildup is exciting and the drop is raw and simply massive.

This progressive track is one of those tracks where the remix really brings out its best. A really nice combination of peaceful melodies and strings, as well as an energetic drop, the feel good factor is big in this song. It's also a free download, which is always good! Check it out and Enjoy!

Mossy - Kalimba

Every once in a while you find something out, read a book, or hear a song, that instantly grabs your attention and makes you want to hear more. When I heard this song I was completely enthralled, suddenly wanting to hear more Deep Progressive House.

This song is very beautifully simple, yet hypnotising from the first kick to the last, but there is fine attention to detail, such as the slight swing and the subtle delay on the Kalimba lead. Mossy himself is not well known at all, and searching the internet for him doesn't bring up much information. There are however more of his songs scattered around youtube.

Trap Package

Below are a selection of trap songs that I've been recently listening too. Every week or so I will upload a Trap package posting some of the freshest and tastiest sounds in the genre. 

Some of the biggest up and coming producers of 2012 have made their name in electronic music from the rising Trap movement. There are fears that the rise of the genre has been to quick and is perhaps another sub-genre that will fade over time. 

Lets hope not.

After watching the previous After movies of this seemingly incredible festival for the past couple of years and hearing endless praise about how good Tomorrowland is, myself and fellow bloggers Hugh and Mike are hoping to get tickets when they are released on Saturday. 

The official 2012 anthem was released by Belgian duo and ambassadors to the festival Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Australian sisters NERVO and the big dutch man Afrojack. 

The video below portrays in Vegas and Like Mike's words, " The greatest fucking festival in the world "

It looks unbelievable, and something that every dance fan across the world must aspire to go to.

Clockwork - Surge EP

Released on Steve Aoki's label Dim Mak Records, Clockwork also known as RL Grime ( a pioneer of the up and coming trap genre ) has released a 2 song EP after a spree of scintillating remixes. 

Having recently remixed Avicii's Levels and Congorock's Bless Di Nation the NYC based producer combines with vocalist Wynter Gordon to produce a tune that must be played on loud, bassy speakers. 

The second track is signature Clockwork, with big squelching bass lines and an almost progressive feel.

Having a stressful week? This melodic and subtle track released by young Russian trance producer Arty will feed you relaxed and chilled vibes. 

I'm a huge fan of Arty, and being signed to Trance legends Above & Beyond's record label Anjuna Beats as well as Ministry of Sound, we can definitely expect massive things from the young DJ who has been recently collaborating with A V Buuren and Mat Zo.

Eminence - United (RedMoon Remix)

This is another track on the Monster Cat label, with a hard hitting electro feel to it. RedMoon is a relatively unknown young producer from Singapore, but with releases like this he is definitely worth watching. Enjoy!

I.Y.F.F.E, Au5 & Auratic - Sweet

This is a big track, one of those ones from relatively unknown artists, yet deserving of way more acknowledgement. It has a disco feel to it, and then out of nowhere drops some really tasty Electro/Dubstep into the mix, before mellowing out. The funky bass lines and interesting chords turn this song into one i'll be listening too a lot.

The Esseph - Chicken Headz

If your a fan of trap music, you'll love this. Got similar vibes to the well known Harlem Shake by Baauer. Very underrated.... and deserves much more.

If you dont like trap, give this a go. This was one of the songs that got me properly started with the new genre so have a listen.

Rihanna - Diamonds (Flaxo Stadium Bootleg Remix)

Now this song you'll either love or hate. 

If you hate it its either because its a) Trap or b) Rihanna, or maybe both. But if you keep an open mind to Rihanna, and either supported Trap from the beginning, or like me recently got into it, you're going to love this one. 

Flaxo, who also produced an awesome Trap remix to Kendrik Lemar's 'Swimming Pools', does a great effort on this remix, adding a lot more than the many other remixes of the original out there.

This tune needs to be put on loud with lots of bass. Enjoy the sick drop when it finally hits. This one is large.

Silvio Ecomo & Chuckie - Moombah (Afrojack Remix)

Dutch producers Chuckie and Ecomo combine to release a massive sound, released last year and remixed by Dutch powerhouse Afrojack, this has been played in many of young trap sensation Baauer's live sets.

This song was influential in the creation of the genre Moombahton. Dave Nada an American DJ slowed down Afrojack's remix of the song from 128 BPM to 108 BPM to create the basis of the genre.

This tune will certainly have cemented a place in many a DJ's set for the forthcoming summer festivals and underground raves.
